Nothing in life is free. But last night I did my best to give away as much candy for free as possible. Unfortuantly it was soooo cold out here and rainy that I didn't get to give away nearly enough. Last year they ran me out of candy before 7:00pm. However my very first group of kids made it all worth while. It was 3 sisters say about 8, 5, 3, and you have to understand that every year (ok it's only been the past two but it will be every year from here on out) John and I carve pumkins and roast pumkin seeds. Well this year, as the the girls came up the steps the little 5 yr old says just as cute as can be "oh mommy lookie REAL jack'o lanterns. Mom can you believe it they made real ones." She was soooo happy that we had the "real" jack o lanterns out! :):) It made all the older kids barable and the ones too shy to do anything but stick out their bag funny and cute. Heck it made my whole night. Sometimes I wonder why I do the things I do at work, expecially when it doesn't seem to be fast enough to save the people I care about, but last night hearing that little girl I remember why, I do what I do, it so that one day she and kids like her can be free and happy and not live in hospitals and stuff. Funny I don't even know her name or what she looks like, but I don't think I'll be forgeting her any time soon.
